3.2.11. Head of cylinders


Sequence of a tightening of bolts of a head of the block of cylinders


1. Disconnect a wire of the minus plug of the accumulator.
2. Merge cooling liquid, unscrew spark plugs and remove an additional driving belt.
3. Remove inlet and final collectors.
4. Remove a gas-distributing belt. Before removing a belt, turn a cranked shaft approximately on 60 ° back. The probability of contact of valves with pistons thereby decreases.
5. Remove camshafts.
6. Unscrew the bolts, fixing a back cover of a gas-distributing belt to a head of cylinders.
7. Disconnect all hoses from a head of cylinders.
8. Unscrew a ventilating tube from the block of cylinders.
9. Check, that all hoses and the wires disturbing to removal of a head of cylinders, were disconnected.
10. Unscrew head bolts in sequence of return sequence of a tightening (see fig. Sequence of a tightening of bolts of a head of the block of cylinders).
11. Remove a head of cylinders.
12. Remove head laying.

Preparation for installation

1. Carefully clean being joined surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders. Clean water and oil channels in a head. Clean heads of pistons from a deposit.
2. Examine being joined surfaces on existence of deep scratches, dents and other damages. Small scratches can be smoothed out an emery paper, strong damages are necessary for processing on the machine.
3. Check, whether the surface on which laying is established is deformed.
4. Clean carvings of bolts in a head of cylinders.
5. Prepare new bolts.


1. Check, that the cranked shaft still was turned approximately on 60 ° back.
2. Establish head laying on adjusting pins (are specified by shooters).
3. Check, that the label on laying was turned up.
4. Establish a head.
5. Insert new bolts of a head of cylinders.
6. Tighten head bolts in the specified sequence (see fig. Sequence of a tightening of bolts of a head of the block of cylinders).
7. Establish the remained details.
8. Connect the accumulator, get the car and check operation of the engine.
